Small Group Learning
Achievers Lab provides 2 hour small group learning that allows students to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. With our small group lessons, students are able to brainstorm and share ideas with their peers, while receiving the undivided attention that they deserve from our tutor.
Class Structure:
Our lessons follow a specific structure that is unique to Achievers Lab.
Review (20 minutes) - The first 10 minutes of the lesson will be spent on reviewing previous class material to ensure that students are caught up to speed.
Quiz (20 minutes) - Students will be quizzed on previous class material to refresh their memory of the material. Every quiz is graded. The results of these quizzes ultimately reflect progress as well as the student’s degree of understanding of the material.
Lecture (60 minutes) - Tutor will spend about 60 minutes in teaching Material of the Day (MOTD) to students through material that exemplifies KTAC -- Knowledge, Thinking, Application, and Communication. The goal of the lesson is for students to first grasp the basics, and then further their understanding through numerous examples, illustrations, in class activities, and practice questions.
Breakout Session (20 minutes) - The final 20 minutes of the lesson is more or less a Q&A session for the class. Students are free to raise any questions related to the lesson, and ask tutor for some homework help. If time permits, tutor typically would integrate interactive activities with the class to stimulate students’ desire to think, learn, and bounce ideas with their peers.
We hold various campuses across Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, North York and Mississauga.
